Synopsis: The historical documentary series continues with this fascinating investigation into the origins of the world-famous crystal skulls. Since the 19th century, a number of lifelike quartz skulls have been discovered and displayed in museums. These relics, allegedly dating from Aztec and Mayan civilisations, are believed to have psychic powers. Now, for the first time ever, scientists are given access to the most famous skull of all, the so-called ‘Skull of Doom’.
The skulls have been attributed with mysterious powers and it has even been claimed they are artefacts from Atlantis or an extra-terrestrial civilisation. The most famous of these relics is a pure quartz skull known as the ‘Skull of Doom’. It was first brought to light over 50 years ago by a buccaneering English explorer named Frederick Mitchell-Hedges. A real-life Indiana Jones, Mitchell-Hedges claimed the skull was a sacred Mayan relic of death, made over 3,600 years ago for use by the high priests.

Încă din secolul al XIX-lea au fost descoperite şi afişate în muzee, mai multe cranii dintr-un material similar cuarţului. Despre aceste relicve, se presupune că datează din perioada civilizaţiilor aztecă şi mayaşă, şi de asemenea, se crede că au puteri psihice. Acum, pentru prima dată, oamenii de ştiinţă au acces la unul dintre cele mai renumite cranii dintre toate, aşa-numitul "Skull of Doom".
Craniilor le-au fost atribuite puteri misterioase şi chiar s-a fost afirmat că sunt (posibile) artefacte din Atlantida sau aparţinând unei civilizaţii extra-terestre. Cea mai renumită dintre aceste relicve, este un craniu de cuarţ pur, cunoscut sub numele de "Skull of Doom". A fost primul dintre cele aduse la lumină, cu peste 50 de ani în urmă, de către un corsar şi explorator englez, numit Frederick Mitchell-Hedges. Un fel de Indiana Jones real şi în viaţă, Mitchell-Hedges a susţinut că acest craniu era o relicvă sacră mayaşă a morţii, realizat cu peste 3600 ani în urmă, pentru a fi utilizat de către înalţii preoţi mayaşi. |
