Povestea celui mai deosebit oraş al planetei, ce descrie mozaicul comunităţilor creştine, evreieşti şi musulmane care coexistă aici. Acoperind o zbuciumată istorie de peste 4.000 de ani, filmul explorează fondarea oraşului, naşterea şi convergenţa a trei religii monoteiste importante ale lumii, precum şi evenimentele-cheie din istoria Ierusalimului, precum au fost ele descrise īn Biblie, Talmud, Hagaddah, Coran şi īn Hadith.
Niciun alt oraş nu a generat mai multă exaltare şi mai multă suferinţă, mai mult extaz şi mai mult sacrificiu. Despre niciun alt oraş nu vorbeşte atāta lume īn termenii: aici locuieşte Dumnezeu.
