In data de 1 ianuarie un barbat de 83 ani si-a dat duhul in timp ce camerele tv ale postului tv BBC ii filmau agonia si rudele indurerate.
Moartea batranului dureaza aproximativ 5 minute, timp in care o voce explica ce se intampla cu corpul acestuia.
Nu pentru prima oara conducerea postului a fost acuzata de difuzare a evenimentelor socante, in cadrul emisiunii “Inside the human body” (Inauntrul corpului uman) doar pentru cresterea audientei. Intr-o emisiune anterioara a fost prezentat un documentar despre sinuciderea asistata a unui britanic care suferea de o afectiune cerebrala.
“Moartea este o parte importanta a experientei umane, iar transmiterea, vrea să-i facă pe oameni să înţeleagă ce se întâmplă cu corpul atunci când nu mai este capabil să funcţioneze în mod corespunzător”, a declarat un purtător de cuvânt al BBC.
